Well, I preempt this by stating I recently got home from the Alegria party and am quite exhausted.
However, not quite being able to sleep yet, I thought I'd use this time to get our new blog in gear (as I notice jaybo has already done =)).
As he mentioned, '07 had it's share of challenges for many of us. Much of it was in reaction to events that occured and shaped our daily lives, and much of that having to to with loss (loss of a family member, job, apartment, and so on). However, there were lots of highs for '07 that cannot be discounted and we recalled several of them at our roundtable of preseco/mango/amaretto drinks.
What my main focus for '08 is to be more proactive in the events taking place. It is really time to shape the present in order to create a future that we strive for. This can mean different things for different people, but I for one am clear that I need to be more engaged in the direction and follow through of items that I claim and consider to be of importance.
As I spent 11 hours dancing, walking, and sitting, through the Alegria party, I really embraced the love and friends I have gained over the past year+. It has been a great gift to have met so many wonderful people that have helped shape and support my work. I spent time acknowledging the individuals that helped open this new world to me and really started to think how I can now use my time to the greatest benefit of reaching the goals that others (and I) see in me. Therefore, proactive, is the key term for me in '08. There is no real resolution beyond being engaged in shaping my circumstances. The people are there for me, now I need to make the other pieces work.
In addition to my 'clubbing' friends, I am blessed with this group on this blog. Your belief and support has been there from the moment Sue and I started dating and will never be overlooked or forgotten. None of what I am doing would be possible without all that you have put in to our efforts. So a sincere thank you to all as we wrap up this crazy year. I love you all dearly in different ways, but am honored to call you family.
Peace
